Scoot and his men is surrounded by minus degrees. With snow, ice and blizzards laying everywhere. Everyday the wind was changing, and it seemed like the wether only knew how to get worse.

provisions
The men had food for a couples of days (not much), teodolit,
a camera, medicine, sleeping bags, tent, geological specimens, sledge, and spirit.
c. their physical
condition
Frostbites has killed one of the men and the cold is
not very pleasant at all, to stay in. Scoot and his men did not have enough
food, so they had to go on with a half full stomach.
d. their mental
condition
Even though the trip was tough these men did not want to give up. They had mentally an ideal thought of how they should keep on fighting, for their honor. To them giving up even when you can go on is worse than dyeing. Oaten took his own life by walked into the blizzard with his head up high.
